A New Benchmark for Semiconductor Cybersecurity! UPAS Takes the Lead in Implementing the SEMI E187 Standard to Deliver National-Grade Protection
November 12, 2025

The SEMI E187 certification and verification scheme officially launched in September 2025, signaling that semiconductor equipment cybersecurity regulations have entered the implementation phase. As the world's first Taiwan-led cybersecurity standard for semiconductor wafer manufacturing equipment, SEMI E187 has been jointly promoted by the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI), TSMC, ITRI, and SEMI since 2018, and has now become a critical procurement threshold for major global manufacturers. In response to the increasingly severe cyber threats facing the semiconductor manufacturing industry, UPAS has taken the lead in adopting this Taiwan-led SEMI E187 standard. Targeting the four defined pillars—Network Security, Security Monitoring, Operating System Specification, and Endpoint Protection—UPAS has officially launched its FAB Manufacturing Compliance Solution, helping fabs bolster their defenses and ensure that every device connected to the internal network is secure and compliant.

Agentless Total Asset Inventory: Zero Blind Spots in Network Security

Leveraging patented ARP technology, UPAS enables 100% asset inventory and IP management without requiring any agent installation. It supports legacy systems back to Windows XP while preventing IP conflicts and unauthorized connections, thereby strengthening internal network cyber resilience.

Non-Stop 24/7 Security Monitoring to Ensure Production Line Stability

The system automatically monitors and blocks potential threats in real time, paired with a "Fail-Safe Bypass" design to ensure production lines remain unaffected. The UPAS dashboard integrates rich charts and data analytics, delivering high visibility that empowers administrators to gain a clear, comprehensive view of internal network status via a single pane of glass.

Automated Policy Deployment for OS Compliance: Making Cross-Border and Multi-Region Management Effortless

UPAS supports cross-region automated grouping and security policy synchronization, ensuring that device operating systems, antivirus software, and signature updates across all locations are updated regularly. It can also block EOL (End-of-Life) systems to eliminate potential vulnerabilities.

NAC + ITAM Integration for Intelligent Endpoint Protection

Consolidating NAC and ITAM capabilities into a single solution, UPAS enables automated whitelisting, grouping, and remediation mechanisms, achieving a device management rate of up to 98%. It delivers comprehensive control over AD management, patch updates, software inventory, software distribution, and remote O&M, keeping all devices fully accounted for and leaving hidden risks nowhere to hide.
